Thursday 14 March 2024 National Careers Week 2024 Beacon Plus learners actively participated in National Careers Week, where they had the opportunity to engage with speakers from various local businesses. The week included a soup making workshop hosted by David from The Education People at our cafe, who shared insights about his catering business. Additionally, learners received visits from Kent Police, Go Recruitment, East Kent Volunteering, McDonalds, HMRS Host, and Kenney, an engineering manager, who discussed different career paths. The event also featured the return of Beacon Plus alumni Jack, Blayne, and Luke, who are now employed or volunteering, and shared about their respective roles and responsibilities. To add to the experience, learners also enjoyed a careers "escape room" activity and planned and filmed a video about neuro diversity at work.

Monday 21 November 2022 Our Community Cafe The Beacon Plus Community Cafe has moved to its new larger premises within Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Folkestone! We will be offering our delicious light lunches, cakes and of course our famous bread!
Wednesday 19 October 2022 Beacon Plus Community Cafe Market Day Following the great success of our last market day, The Beacon Plus Community Cafe will be holding another market event on Friday 21st October at the Bouverie Place Market Square in Folkestone from 10.00am-3.00pm.
